SAX-O-FUN was founded in 1990 by Alex Steurs and was recognised as a company in 1994.
SAX-O-FUN wants to give more recognition to the saxophone within the framework of chamber music and also tries to encourage composers to write original music for this line-up.
The four members of the quartet are graduated saxophonists from the Royal Conservatories and are connected to various music academies as teachers.
SAX-O-FUN plays both edits of classical works, transcriptions, and modern and original works for saxophone quartet. The ensemble has an ideal program for a recital, but is also specialized in giving aperitif concerts, receptions, as background music for a stylish dinner, or as well-liked music on a brunch.
SAX-O-FUN is supported by the Ministry of the Flemish Community.
SAX-O-FUN played concerts in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy and Portugal.
